My Story

I am a Trustee for the homeless charity in Leicester - The Bridge - Homelessness to Hope since 2017. I live in Leicester. I am a Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Director at the Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust which is a mental health Trust and Clinical Director for East Midlands Mental Health Clinical Network (NHS England). One of my passion is tackling health inequalities, in particular, homelessness. I have developed the five-year strategy on health and well-being for The Bridge. This has helped to focus on holistic and wrap around care for the homeless by providing appropriate physical and mental health support, dealing with drug and alcohol issues and promoting their well-being and recovery orientated actvites such as art and craft group and the most popular music group. This was possible by working in partnership with NHS, Council and other sectors. With a group of volunteeers I set up regular dental and eye care services for the homeless at The Bridge.

I am running Marathon in Southamphton on 7th April 2024 to raise awareness on homelessness and to raise funds for the charity. This will help The Bridge to continue and expand its ambition to promote health and well-being and recovery activities for the homeless. I am running Marathon with my lovely children Ankitha and Adithya which is always exiting.

It has been a steep learning curve working with the homeless and listening to them in developing and delivering the service.

Thank you for your generous donations.
